Driven Spirit Siberians began with two dogs, a used 3-wheeled cart, and a passion for watching our dogs enjoy their work. When the tailgate of the truck opens it is impossible to keep them out! In their own way they 'yell' for us to hurry up...let's get moving they seem to say.
Our web site is to show everyone how we enjoy these wonderful companions. We by no means are experts in the field of recreational carting/sledding but can lead you to those that are. We just do what seems to work for us. After reading several good books we simply watch our dogs to learn from them -- then enjoy the ride.
We are active in the breed and are members of the Siberian Husky Club of America, Inc., the Siberian Husky Club of the Redwoods as well as Northern California Sled Dog Rescue. We were also members of the Mt Hamilton Siberian Husky Club (disbanded 2005).
Our purpose is to produce a Siberian Husky that excels in temperament while maintaining the ability to efficiently work on a sled team. With this in mind, we rarely breed and are more than happy to refer you to someone if you can't wait.
If you want to read a fantastic book, somewhat a comedy, try Gary Paulsen's "Winterdance." The movie "Snow Dogs" was very loosely based on the book. The movie was good but the book is far better...be careful where you read it because you'll be laughing out loud!
